I wrote this as a Facebook status. Someone suggested I start a blog. Ok. Here's my blog!
I have been through a lot of scary things in my life so far.
- I've been threatened with knives, guns, 2x4's, bats (both kinds), trucks, pool cues, pool balls, beer bottles, stools, chairs, and a table.
- On several occasions, I've had to win pissing contests against large groups of large, angry-looking men.
- I've found myself in the wrong place at the wrong time more than once
- People I've cared about have been hurt, sick, or passed away
- Traveled in weather no one has business travelling in so I could help people
- Major wipe-outs skiing and water-skiing
- lots of other situations.
In these situations, I've felt anger, humility, worry, concern, , nervousness, discomfort, pain, apprehension, sadness, depression, rage, exasperation, desperation, and more.
Never really knew fear till I realized fatherhood is just around the corner. I think this is a good sign. Fear is a survival emotion.
